“Meals Made Simple” by Danielle Walker

During my latest weekly shopping trip to Costco, I went by the book section and browsed through the cookbooks. This particular book caught my attention. It had a very pretty lady on the cover, it was by a New York Times best-selling author, and it was gluten-free. Fortunately, no one in my family has a problem with gluten; but since I started to blog, I have a greater awareness that many people do.

As I skimmed through the book, I thought what wonderful photographs it had. The pictures were styled in a clean, minimal way. Maybe, the book might be helpful in improving the way I take and stage my food photos, even though I’m just using my iPhone right now. Upon further scrutiny, the recipes look pretty good too—they were simple, so I decided to purchase the book!

When I got home, I read that Danielle had some very serious health issues. Her story is truly inspiring, as she was able to take control of her health and in the process was able to help others. I can’t wait to try out some of her recipes, but knowing me, I will make slight modifications to suit the tastes of my family and me. That’s what I like about cooking, you can add your own personality to things!
