The Environment Working Group (EWG) is a non-profit organization, located in Washington D.C., that specializes in research and advocacy to protect the public health and the environment. The following is their list of fruits and vegetables that have the most pesticide residues and therefore, should be purchased organic:

  • Apples
  • Strawberries
  • Grapes
  • Celery
  • Peaches
  • Spinach
  • Sweet bell peppers
  • Nectarines (imported)
  • Cucumbers
  • Cherry tomatoes
  • Snap peas (imported)
  • Potatoes
  • Kale/collard greens
  • Hot peppers

  1. Hi Rena………thanks for posting that. I try to only buy organic but sometimes don’t when shopping a regular grocers. That is a good tip to know. I make a really good green drink in a blender if you’d ever want that recipe. Marjorie
